North Metro Poker's first-ever knockout tournament provided plenty of action as each player looked forward to the opportunity to gain an additional $5 for each player that they were able to eliminate.

At the end of the night, despite showing up over an hour late, first-time player Joe Adler took down first place.

Jake Hoosline was one of the short-stacks with four players remaining, and jokes ensued about Jake finishing as bubble-boy for the third straight tournament, however Jake seemed determined to fight back and had the last laugh as he made it to heads-up play. With the blinds at 2,000 - 4,000 and only 120,000 chips in play, both players were moving all-in pre-flop frequently.

In the final hand, Jake moved all-in with his K8 and Joe thought a while before calling with his A9. With the final board reading 310575, Joe took down the pot and won in his first-ever entry.

With 12 entries, Joe took home $211 as top prize as well as an additional $15 for eliminating three other players. The next tournament will be our standard $40 Freezeout tournament. It is scheduled for April 14th at 2:00 pm.
