2nd: $116

Event #5 was full of tons of action and memorable hands as players looked forward to moving up the points leaderboard with North Metro Poker's top-two points leaders being unable to attend. At the end of the night, everyone that showed up to the tournament has to somewhat be satisfied with their finish as the points race is as tight as ever with the top 7 players being within 2 points of each other.

While he had missed the last two NMP tournaments, Geno Mau grinded his way to his first-ever cash while picking up pocket kings several times throughout the day. In the end though, it would be Corey Schiminski who would get the last laugh as he held pocket kings and would end Geno's run.

In the final hand, Corey picked up a monster with KK and moved all-in. Geno thought for a couple moments and decided his A7 was strong enough heads-up to try and double up. Unfortunately for Geno, the final board read J31054 and Corey won the tournament in only his third-ever entry.

With 13 entries, Corey took home $230 as top prize and moved up the points leaderboard. While he isn't in the top five, he sits less than 2 points out of first place in a jam-packed race for first place. The next tournament is scheduled for May 5th at 2:00 pm.
