Event #7 marked the first night where North Metro Poker founder TJ Sanders finally secured his first victory. It came in a great heads-up battle against the hard-to-read Kimmy Levercom.

While each player captured huge hands to secure their spot heads-up, both players looked to continue NMP's streak of becoming first-time-ever winners as Corey Schiminski's 3rd place finish ensured he wouldn't become the first two-time winner. Corey was eliminated in 3rd place by TJ's full house and much to Kimmy's surprise, TJ would do the same to her in the final hand of the night.

In that hand, TJ flopped a monster with his A2 with the board reading 26A. Kimmy herself flopped a decent hand when her 108 came within one card of her flush. With the A on the turn, Kimmy was drawing dead and TJ knew barring a major cooler, he had the hand locked up. Both players checked the turn and unfortunately for Kimmy the 7 hit the river giving Kimmy her flush. When TJ moved all in on the river, Kimmy had no choice but to call and the event #7 was complete as TJ had Kimmy out-chipped 4 to 1.

With 13 entries, TJ took home $249 for first place. The next tournament is scheduled for June 23rd at 2:00 pm and will be the second $45-series knockout tournament of the year.
