All the stars came out to play in Event #10 as North Metro Poker enjoyed it's largest field yet with 23 entrants shooting for the highest payout of the season yet that eclipsed $400. In the end, it was NMP grinder Jake Hoosline who finally captured his first victory.

Jake ended up facing fellow NMP grinder Steve Schiminski who moved into 1st place in points after his league-leading 7th final table appearance, his 3rd cash and his 3rd second-place finish this season.

Both players had similar stacks throughout their entire heads-up battle. However, with the blinds so high, neither player had time to try and wait to pick up a strong hand. Both players got all their chips in the middle pre-flop, and it was Jake who took a small lead pre-flop as he showed K9 versus Steve's 86.

Jake improved from 61% pre-flop to 74% when the flop ran out 3A7. With the turn card being the 2, Jake further improved to 84% needing to dodge just 6 cards on the river to secure the win. With the river bringing the 10, Jake could breathe easier as he scooped up the remainder of Steve's chips and took down the largest field of the season.

With 23 entries, Jake took home the largest payout of the season with $406 for first place. The next tournament is scheduled for September 8th at 2:00 pm.
