Season 1 concluded with quite a bang with drama of nearly every hand of the final table. With points leader Jake Hoosline's early elimination in 11th place, several players had hopes of catching him in the Player of the Year points race. With 4 of the final 6 players remaining having a shot to catch and surpass Jake in the PotY race, Jake had plenty of reason to stick around to catch the final eliminations.

When the money bubble broke with the elimination of Steve Schiminski, it was calculated that Kimmy Levercom could surpass Jake (by 0.03 points!) if she could eliminate both Steve Kohn and Tyler English and win her second tournament in a row. When Steve Kohn decided to move all-in pre-flop as the short-stack and Kimmy decided to call, Jake had plenty of reason to cheer for Steve to try and double up.

Steve ended up tabling A2 while Kimmy showed K10. Steve was a 59% favorite pre-flop to double up through Kimmy but unfortunately for him and for Jake, Kimmy a 88% lead post-flop when the flop showed KQ9. With Steve needing to re-take the lead with one of the three remaining Aces in the deck with only two cards to come, things were looking very interesting in terms of who would take home Player of the Year honors. Unfortunately for Jake (and Steve) the board ran out with the 6 on the turn and the J on the river and it would be Tyler English and Kimmy Levercom playing heads-up with each player looking for their second win of the year.

For Jake, the last hand of the night was the ultimate sweat. Tyler ended staying aggressive against Kimmy by nearly raising every pot heads-up as the chip leader. Tyler ended up raising pre-flop yet again to 10,000 and Kimmy finally pushed back with a re-raise to 20,000. Tyler thought for a few moments before declaring he was all-in. Kimmy thought for a moment before declaring she had called and Tyler showed QJ and Kimmy showed A6 so this time it was Kimmy who had a short lead pre-flop with a 58% chance to double up and cripple Tyler. With the flop reading K76 Jake looked defeated as Kimmy now had a 76% chance of doubling up. However, with the J on the turn, Jake celebrated just as much as Tyler with Kimmy now needing a lifeline in the form of an Ace or a 6 on the river. Unfortunately for her, the 4 completed the board and Tyler eliminated Kimmy which secured Jake's spot as the Player of the Year.

Jake ended up taking home $250 for being Season 1 Player of the Year. Tyler ended up taking home $723 for being the Season 1 Main Event Champion.
